Knock once means I'm indisposed, knock twice come on over.

indisposed : slightly unwell.

노크 한번 하면 "나 컨디션 안 좋아" 라는 뜻이고, 노크 두 번 하면 "우리 집에 놀러 와"

put someone on the spot : INFORMAL. force someone into a situation in which they must make a difficult decision or answer a difficult question.

I should probably warn you that this event is gonna be quite high brow.

high-brow : a person who possesses or has pretensions to superior learning or culture

아마 너한테 경고해줘야 될 거야, 인텔리들이 꽤나 모이는 파티가 될 거라서 말이야

the more the merrier : the more people or things there are, the better or more enjoyable a situation will be.
